In May 1999, Mandi started racing her Ford Escort in the Junior Division 4 cylinder bombers at Orange County Raceway. Early in 2003 her father purchased a mini-stock and she started running with the big boys on the asphalt at Orlando Speed World. In 2004 and 2005 she raced a limited mini stock schedule at Orlando Speed World until she and her team decided to purchase a Late Model. Mandi finished the 2007 season 3rd in championship points and was awarded "Rookie of the Year" in the late model division. Currently: Mandi continues to race in the late model division at New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando Speedworld as time and money allow. It's interesting to note that Mandi does much of her own work on the racecar. The following is a note from her auto shop teacher in high school.
